Parking

The free flow of traffic is central to Glasgow's economy and environment. The parking regulations are designed to help people come into the city for business, shopping or entertainment, and to make the streets safer for drivers and pedestrians.

Glasgow City Council was granted powers by the Scottish Executive to take responsibility for the enforcement of the city's parking regulations and as a result of this the new team of parking attendants appeared on Glasgow's streets from 4th October 1999.
