The Licensing Board meets at regular intervals to consider applications made under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.
Applications can be made for a "provisional premises" or "premises" licence, for which a Building Standards Certificate will require to be issued to the applicant by Building Standards.

An applicant can apply for a "premises" licence for which:
The issue of this certificate may require the granting of a building warrant and the acceptance of a subsequent certificate of completion.
For a "provisional premises" licence the certificate would require to be issued before "confirmation" of the licence, i.e. when works have been completed and the applicant is ready to operate.
For a "premises" licence the certificate would require to be issued before the application can be made to the Licensing Board.
