Economic Strategy

Contact Economic Development

Despite our many successes, Glasgow's economy faces three Grand Challenges: Enhancing Productivity, The Climate Emergency and Inclusive Growth. Our new economic strategy prioritises cross-sector collaboration to tackle these long-standing issues.

The previous strategy, published in 2016 and refreshed in 2019, was scheduled to run until 2023. However, so profound is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, that a fresh strategy is needed to reflect the new economic reality facing Glasgow and the city region.

The Glasgow Economic Strategy 2022-2030 addresses our most pressing challenges and opportunities. It sets out the clearly defined actions we will take to deliver an inclusive, sustainable and more productive economy for our city.

Please find the Glasgow  Economic Strategy 2022-2030 here.
