Due to the current outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) some of our services have been affected.
We have compiled an overview of the types of support available to Scottish Businesses during the Coronavirus pandemic, please read our Information for Business Support.
If you have already emailed us we will respond to you in due course. The volume of applications is such that this is taking longer than anticipated however staff are working very hard to process applications as quickly as possible.
We thank you for your patience during this time.
Please Note:
Due to an exceptionally high number of applications received for the Community Business Boost, the programme has been temporarily paused in order to process existing applications.
Applications received on or before 19 November 2020 will continue to be processed.
Community Business Boost programme (CBB) was launched in the Summer of 2018 which supported new and expanding local businesses locating in the four highest SIMD (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation) areas in the city (Calton, Canal, East Centre and North East wards).
The CBB programme has now been extended across the city(except: City Centre, West End and Shawlands BID areas) to support new and expanding businesses by offering part funding towards premises costs over a two year period.
The purpose of the Community Business Boost fund is to encourage new and existing businesses to locate, or re-locate, in those parts of Glasgow where there is less business activity. The presence of local businesses in an area can improve the quality of life in a community and also provide local employment opportunities.
As there is a limited amount of money in the CBB fund, applications will be assessed with a view to equal distribution of monies across the city of Glasgow.
Businesses that have successfully formulated their business proposition into a clear, sustainable and viable strategy for job creation and growth are invited to make an application for funding to support the lease of a property in the city.
Businesses must not have signed a lease or licence or already be operating within the proposed property.
In addition, business advisory support is available to support businesses to submit Small Business Bonus Scheme applications for discount on Non Domestic Business Rates.
Please Email CBB to check that your postcode is within the eligible area. If you are eligible a Business Advisor will be assigned to you to assist you with your application.
The updated Community Business Boost (CBB) application process is detailed below, this is a 2 stage process where applications are presented to the CBB Funding Panel to be reviewed prior to being submitted to the Economic Development Senior Management Team (EDSMT) funding panel for final approval:
