Following a public vote the new non-denominational school with community sports facilities in the North of Glasgow will be called North Kelvinside Primary.
The new school, being built to meet the future demand for primary pupils in the area was due for completion by August 2021 but this will now be delayed as construction sites are shut during the current pandemic.
The vote for the school's new name proved very popular with more than 2,500 votes cast from members of the local community and links to the area.
The new school is being built on the site of the former North Kelvinside Secondary School so it's no surprise that this name came out on top.
North Kelvinside Primary 44.4%
Queen Margaret Primary 31.2%
Belhaven Primary 24.4%
Councillor Chris Cunningham, City Convener for Education, Skills and Early Years said: "North Kelvinside Primary will be a wonderful new school for the local children to attend.
"The name is clearly held in high esteem in the local area and in the north of Glasgow and I love the fact that a little bit of the old school is being embraced by the new school community.
"Our next step will be for the local nursery and school children to help design the new school badge - this will be an exciting opportunity for them to help shape the plans for the school they could potentially be attending.
"Thanks to everyone who took part in the school name vote and I know that we are all looking forward to seeing North Kelvinside Primary School open to children and staff."
