9Notices of motion:-
(a)By Councillor George Redmond:-

"This Council welcomes the opening of the new Riverside Museum this month and believes that this development, along with others such as the reinstatement of ferry services between water row, Govan and the new Kelvin Harbour, will assist in the continued development and enhancement of the River Clyde." View Papers
(b)By Bailie David McDonald:-

"Council notes the proposed cuts to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Strathclyde with concern. Council believes this would be a backward step for the University which has a proud reputation for delivering a wide ranging educational experience and would have a negative impact on the city including job losses.

Council is concerned in particular about the cutting of Community Education and the impact this would have on the ability of the Council, partners and the voluntary sector to deliver key priority policies across the City. Council believes the University has a responsibility to its community and calls for the University to secure the future of all subjects." View Papers
(c)By Councillor Paul Coleshill:-

"Council regards green space as vital for the well being of every citizen of Glasgow and that therefore it should be preserved.

It notes that no financial cost to the council is associated with council building projects placed on green or park land and that this distorts financial assessments of these projects.

Therefore council resolves that no project involving building on green land should proceed without full and meaningful consultation and the backing by a large majority of the local community for any proposal. View Papers
(d)By Bailie Dr Nina Baker:-

"Glasgow City Council notes that Glasgow has very few public toilets and only one that meets the full "changing spaces" criteria. The general shortage of public toilets in the city centre is a public safety issue, placing women in particular at additional risk. The absolute shortage of full-specification toilets for users with disabilities is discriminatory and not compliant with equality policies.

Glasgow City Council resolves to establish a cross party short term working group to work with council staff and the Style Mile Partnership on a feasibility study to establish more 24 hour and fully accessible public toilets in the city centre." View Papers
(e)By Councillor George Ryan:-

"This Council welcomes the completion of the M74 'missing link' and in particular, notes the benefits that this vital transport project will have on the continued regeneration of the south and east of the city." View Papers
(f)By Councillor Billy McAllister:-

"Council notes the assurances made to users of the Accord Centre that a 'like for like' replacement would be found, following the loss of their centre, as part of the works for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Council further notes the negative impact this situation will have on some of the most vulnerable in our city.

Council is concerned at the loss of this facility without the promised replacement and expresses support for those affected calling for a replacement facility which meets their agreed requirements. Council therefore calls on the Executive Member for Social Care to follow through on his commitment and deliver an agreeable replacement for the Accord Centre at the earliest opportunity." View Papers
