9Notices of motion:-
(a)By Councillor Jonathan Findlay:-

"This Council recognises the failure of bus deregulation across Scotland. It calls on the Scottish Government to bring forward legislation as a matter of urgency to allow the regulation or franchising of bus services to ensure that service provision matches need, is of high quality and makes public transport an attractive, reliable and affordable option." View Papers
(b)By Bailie Phil Greene:-

"This Council is unanimous in condemning the UK Government's decision to close the many Remploy factories throughout the UK and particulalry the Springburn factory.

Forty-six employees who have a variety of disabilities many including ex-servicemen, are of the opinion that given the current financial climate the chances in them finding constructive employment is extremely limited.

Council is requested to send a most strongly worded letter to Marie Miller, Work and Pensions Minister, requesting a delay in closure of the factories until all partners including the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council can fully examine all options with a view to safegaurding the positions of all the Springburn Remploy staff." View Papers
(c)By Councillor Alex Dingwall:-

"Council notes:

1. That although 90% of people say they support organ donation, for lots of reasons only a quarter of the UK population is on the organ donor register;

2. That 3 people die every day across the UK while waiting for an organ transplant; and

3. That support for a change to a soft opt out system is backed by major charities, including the British Heart Foundation, Kidney Research UK, Diabetes UK, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, and the British Medical Association (BMA).

Council therefore congratulates the Evening Times on its current campaign to secure more donors and urging the Scottish Government to adopt a soft opt out system of organ donation to address a national shortage of donors on the register.

Council therefore agrees:

1. To add our support to the campaign;

2. To encourage residents, Councillors and employees to join the current donor register;

3. To publicise our support for the campaign through all Council media channels; and

4. To send a copy of this motion to all MSPs. View Papers
(d)By Councillor Danny Alderslowe:-

Council recognises there is overwhelming concern from service users, carers, day care centre staff, social work staff, professionals and unions over the process of Personalisation.

Council will suspend the process forthwith and no further assessments to be carried out, pending a full and open review of the process, to be carried out with full clarity, allowing the concerns of many to be openly heard.

To that end, the establishment of a review working group will be implemented by referral to an appropriate policy development committee. View Papers
