11Notice of motion to Council from Councillor John Mason

"Council reaffirms its commitment to welcoming asylum seekers to Glasgow and providing them with as much support as possible. However, Council also notes that many people throughout the world are attracted to Western Europe because of our relative wealth. Social Inclusion is a concept which must be applied globally as well as within our own country and within Europe. Therefore, we call upon both the Westminster Government and the European Union to increase their aid to poorer parts of the world in order that the present gap between rich and poor might be reduced in the long term."
