8Question by Councillor Niall Walker - Nitrogen Dioxide air pollution in Byres Road is almost double the level of government objectives. Will the Council declare Hillhead an Air Quality Management Area and specially examine all developments for air quality implications?.

"Council considers St Andrew's Day should be a public holiday for the people of Scotland. Therefore, it is resolved that in 2004 or as soon as possible thereafter, all schools and Council offices will be closed on 30th November or, if that date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, on the Monday immediately following."

"This Council regrets the increase in reported incidences of violence against women in Glasgow, particularly domestic abuse and rape and sexual assault. Council welcomes the launch of Glasgow's first ever 16 Days of Action on the Eradication of Violence Against Women and congratulates the Glasgow Violence Against Women Partnership and the Community Safety Partnership for their role in planning and co-ordinating this important initiative."
