In 2020, Glasgow City Council made a scheme under Section 75(3)(a) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 promoting the construction of, as a public road, an opening bridge over the navigable waters of the River Clyde between Govan and Partick, Glasgow and for regulating the operation of the opening bridge. The Statutory Instrument confirming the scheme can be viewed here.
The Council is now promoting a Variation to the approved scheme in order to change the location of the layby berth to be used by vessels in the event of the Bridge not opening as required. The title of the scheme is Glasgow City Council Govan Partick Opening Bridge (Variation) Scheme 2024.
The consultation is being carried out by Glasgow City Council.
A copy of the proposed Scheme and plans showing the location of the proposed layby berth are available on the right hand column under related documents.
