Under the Animal Boarding Establishment Act 1963 anyone who carries on the business of providing accommodation for other people's cats and dogs is required to have a licence.

The aim of the licensing requirements is to achieve certain standards in the management of the accommodation and to ensure precautions against disease and fire.

How do I apply?

To apply for a licence, return your completed application form with the appropriate fee to the Licensing Section.

If you plan to submit your application at our Service Desk, you must make an appointment using our online booking system.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday excluding Public Holidays.  Read more about Licensing Appointments.
