Change to EV parking regulations from the 7 November 2016 - Following the implementation of the: GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL CITY CENTRE (TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) ORDER 2010 (VARIATION NO.18) (ELECTRIC VEHICLE PARKING CHARGE) ORDER 2016
All vehicles parked within on-street designated electric vehicle bays shall be required to Pay and Display. In line with existing parking regulations in that zone.
Please note that as part of the on-going works to improve the on street EV infrastructure, the following charging locations will have their charge points replaced and new 22kw fast chargers installed.
Please note that as part of these works the chargers will be removed from the publically accessible estate for a period of 5 days starting as follows.
We offer free electric vehicle charging at a network of plugged in places around the city.
We operate over 80 charging outlets throughout Glasgow. The most recent installed at Duke Street car park, Sauchiehall Street, Ashton Road car park, Great Western Road and South Portland Street. The charging outlets are located on-street within the city centre, Commonwealth games venues, sport and leisure venues, multi-storey car parks, museums and entertainment venues.
The council has received grants from Transport Scotland to subsidise the installation of these electric vehicle charging points.
Please note: There are on-going issue with the unit at Blythswood Square. We are working with the charge point provider to resolve the problems.
A swipe card is required to activate the chargers.
