Despite our many successes, Glasgow's economy faces three Grand Challenges: Enhancing Productivity, The Climate Emergency and Inclusive Growth. Our new draft economic strategy prioritises cross-sector collaboration to tackle these long-standing issues.
The previous strategy, published in 2016 and refreshed in 2029, was scheduled to run until 2023. However, so profound is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, that a fresh strategy is needed to reflect the new economic reality facing Glasgow and the city region.
The Glasgow Economic Strategy 2022-2030 addresses our most pressing challenges and opportunities. It sets out the clearly defined actions we will take to deliver an inclusive, sustainable and more productive economy for our city.
