City Administration Committee - 23 April 2020

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and the necessary public health restrictions now in place, most of the council's committees have been suspended.

An emergency City Administration Committee, with a reduced membership, continues to meet by teleconference.

1. Accounts Commission Findings on Equal Pay - Report by Executive Director of Finance.

The report was noted, as recommended.

 

2. UEFA EURO 2020 postponement - Report by Executive Director of Finance.

The recommendations were approved, reaffirming Glasgow's commitment to host the rescheduled event in 2021.

 

3. Nominated Disposals Programme 2020/2021 - Report by the Executive Director of Regeneration and the Economy.

The recommendations were approved.

 

4. Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, Review of Asset Transfer Request Decision - Report by the Director of Governance and Solicitor to the Council.

Committee agreed to continue any decision until a later date and asked officers to make further efforts to negotiate with the applicant.

 

5. Decisions Taken Under Emergency Delegated Powers - Report by the Director of Governance and Solicitor to the Council.

The report was noted, as recommended.

 

6. Workers' Memorial Day - Update by the Chief Executive.

This is an additional item, not on the published agenda.

The Chief Executive advised members that Workers' Memorial Day was scheduled to be observed on 28 April and asked them to agree that discussions would take place with trades unions on how best to mark the event, given current restrictions.

This was approved by members.
