A consultation beginning on 26 March will offer people and organisations living, based or with an interest in the Gilshochill area of North Maryhill the chance to help shape future plans for the area.

Consultation on proposals for North Maryhill

Transforming Communities: Glasgow (TC:G), in partnership with Maryhill Housing, are launching an online consultation on the Maryhill North Green Infrastructure Masterplan as part of the Maryhill Transformational Regeneration Area.

Centred around Sandbank Street, Kilmun Street, Shiskine Drive and Lyndale Road in the Gilshochill area of Maryhill, the Masterplan presents green infrastructure potential for the area. These proposals include plans for public open space, walking and cycling routes, surface water management features, as well as indications of the type of buildings and homes that will be built there.

The consultation will run until 23 April, and those interested are asked to review the Masterplan and make comment at: www.maryhillnorthtra.com.

Councillor Kenny McLean, Chair of Transforming Communities Glasgow, said: "This consultation offers the chance to find out about and help shape this masterplan for a part of Maryhill that offers great potential as a place to live and visit. By taking part, people can give their views on what they would like to see in the area."

Bryony Willett, Chief Executive of Maryhill Housing, said: "Maryhill Housing is committed to developing homes and neighbourhoods to feel proud of and we are incredibly excited to be part of the team developing plans to transform this area of North Maryhill.  We need local residents to have their say on the proposals and would really appreciate people taking the time to provide feedback".

TC:G is a partnership between Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Housing Association and the Scottish Government delivering housing-led regeneration across eight Transformational Regeneration Areas in the city.
