Published 23/12/21

Information on accessing Covid testing for people with and without symptoms over the festive period.

When available, free packs of lateral flow test kits can be collected from:-

  • Glasgow's Covid test bus which will be on Sauchiehall St (opposite Tesco) until 4pm on Christmas Eve. Test kit collection only at this bus.
  • Until 4pm on Dec 24th,  there will also be a Covid testing bus outside Central Station which is conducting lateral flow tests for people without symptoms.
  • On Christmas Day, Boxing Day and January 1st, there will be two test sites open for people without symptoms. They'll be open from 10am-1pm and are located at:

Skypark, Port Street car park, G3 8HY and The Quay, Springfield Quay, G5 8NP.

Additional asymptomatic test centres will be open between Christmas and New Year. Appointments at all locations (except the buses where no appointments are needed) must be booked in advance at www.nhsinform.scot/test-and-protect where full details of locations and opening times can also be found.

Free Lateral Flow Test kits can also be collected from participating pharmacies and ordered online. Place an order or find your nearest collection point using the postcode checker at www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

People WITH Covid symptoms should use the NHS portal to book a PCR test via www.nhsinform.scot/test-and-protect where information on self-isolation is also available.
