Lahore, Pakistan
Lahore is the capital of the Pakistani province of Punjab and the second largest and metropolitan city in the country. It is the largest native Punjabi-populated city in the world and an important historical centre of South Asia. One of the most densely populated cities in the world, Lahore remains an economic, political, transportation, entertainment, and educational hub. A formal twinning agreement was signed in 2006. Due to political tensions, there has been no recent notable activity.
MANY Studios
This project will include Matt Kushan and Unum Baber's residency and exhibition in Glasgow. The two artists will undertake a residency in Glasgow between 9th - 30th July, with an exhibition opening on Fri 28 July and running for six weeks. There will also be an outreach event during the opening weekend for audiences to participate and interact with the exhibition and the artists.
MELA Festival
A number of Lahore musicians/ artists have been involved in the MELA festival programme and looking to ensure this is a continued feature in the MELA programme
UK-Pakistan Photo Exhibition
A Photographer will travel around Pakistan taking photographs of people and places in Pakistan that represent the UK-Pakistan links, as part of the celebrations of 70 years of the UK-Pakistan relationship. This exhibition will be exhibited in Glasgow's museums.
