New Chief Officer appointed to Glasgow's Health and Social Care Partnership

Pat is currently Chief Officer for the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board (EIJB) and Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP).  Prior to that he was Assistant Chief Officer at Glasgow's HSCP.

Pat began his career in 1998 working in Addiction Services in East Ayrshire and North Lanarkshire before starting his management career within a third sector alcohol and drug service. Pat moved to Glasgow in 2003, working in Community Addiction Teams Children's Services.

In 2014 Pat commenced his role as Head of Service in North-East Glasgow, holding responsibility for area team Social Work Services before the establishment of Glasgow City HSCP.

In 2019 he was appointed the role of Assistant Chief Officer and led on the HSCP's work on public protection and complex needs, supporting the Chief Officer on strategy development, transformation and the management and delivery of Glasgow City HSCP's Homelessness, Asylum, Emergency Out of Hours Social Work Services, Practice Audit and Criminal Justice Services across the city. He also held strategic responsibility for Adult and Child Protection and chaired the Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Partnership.

Since joining Edinburgh, Pat has overseen the restructure of the HSCP and led on a major savings programme while ensuring continuous improvement across the organisation.

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership is the partnership between Glasgow City Council and the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. It is responsible for the planning and delivery of health and social care services and is led and directed by the Glasgow Integration Board.

Pat will be responsible for around 12,000 staff who support the planning and delivery of services.
