The Tech Bar

Two new services designed to enhance your ICT support experience are due to launch.

The Tech Bar and Smart Lockers are being introduced to give you more flexibility in how you receive ICT support.

Whether you prefer face-to-face interaction, or the convenience of 24/7 access these new services are here to help.

 

What is the Tech Bar?

The Tech Bar is a face to face ICT help desk available to all Council Family employees. Located at 231 George Street on the ground floor, the Tech Bar offers an additional option for staff who prefer in person assistance for their ICT issues. Whether you need help with password resets, application errors, or hardware issues, the Tech Bar can support you.

The Tech Bar is now open, you can book an appointment by contacting the service desk on 0141 287 4000 (Ext: 74000) or via email GCCservicedesk@cgi.com  

From Monday 17 March, the easiest and quickest way to book an appointment at the Tech Bar will be directly via Service Now. Simply raise a request, select the Tech Bar option and issue category and then select a convenient time for your visit. If you do arrive at the Tech Bar without an appointment the Tech Bar engineers will assist you in booking one. The Tech Bar is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

What are Smart Lockers?

Smart Lockers are electronic storage lockers designed to streamline the process of collecting and returning ICT equipment. Located at 100 Borron Street, these lockers are accessible 24/7, providing you with the flexibility to pick up or drop off devices at your convenience. Whether you need to collect a new device, replace a faulty one, or pick up peripherals, the Smart Lockers are designed to make the process easier.

To access a Smart Locker you will be given the option to use them when you log a request with the Service Desk or via Service Now. If you decide to use the smart lockers, you'll receive instructions including a QR code and a PIN code to access the locker. Simply scan the QR code or enter the PIN, and the corresponding locker will open automatically. 

Smart Lockers will become available for use over the coming weeks, look out for the option to use them when you log a request with the Service Desk or via Service Now.
