The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has announced that the 2022 UCI Mobility and Bike City Forum will take place in Glasgow on 27-28 October 2022.

It will be the fourth edition of the UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum after successful editions in Milan (Italy) in 2018, Paris (France) in 2019, and Odense (Denmark) in 2021.

The UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum is the UCI's annual conference dedicated to the promotion of sustainable and active mobility. This event brings together the transportation and cycling communities, alongside representatives from the UCI Bike City and Region network, National Federations, Continental Confederations, UCI advocacy and marketing partners and industry experts.

The 2022 edition will take place at the Technology and Innovation Centre of the University of Strathclyde and will be hosted in collaboration with Glasgow Life. The Forum will once again bring together cycling leaders from around the world for a full day of exchange on the future of mobility on day one, with practical workshops and visits on day two.

Glasgow and locations across Scotland will host the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships from 3-13 August 2023. Glasgow has a proud history of delivering world-class events including the 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2018 European Championships and most recently the world's largest climate summit, COP26.

Glasgow has an ambitious target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, and our new Active Travel Strategy and Liveable Neighbourhoods Plan are amongst a number of transport related strategies, which aim to transform streets through positive community engagement, into safe, attractive and welcoming environments, with the inclusion of measures to encourage active travel as the preferred choice of transport.
