George was the son of Mr and Mrs Anderson who resided at 148 Crossloan Road, Glasgow.
He enlisted in the 17th Highland Light Infantry in August 1915. He received his training at Gailes and Ripon, United Kingdom, and proceeded to France in January 1916.
He was severely wounded on 1st April 1917 at Savy near St Quentin, France, and died on 2nd April 1917. For his gallant conduct in his last fight he received the Military Medal.
