Thomas was the Son of Mr and Mrs Thomas G Watson, Sen Hoy, Maryland Gardens, Cardonald, Glasgow.
He joined the 17th Highland Light Infantry in September 1915 and went to France in December 1916. He did exceedingly good work there and was recommended for the Military Medal in January 1917. At Fayet, France, he once more distinguished himself and was recommended for the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
On the 10th of July 1917 while undergoing a bombardment, he was instantaneously killed at Nieuport, Belgium, by an aerial dart. He was 21 years of age.
