Matthew and Elizabeth (née Doyle) were married and lived in Glasgow, where they had two daughters and six sons - one of whom died in childhood. Elizabeth died in 1901 and a few years later Matthew remarried and moved to Old Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire. By the time the First World War broke out in 1914 four sons were in the army. By the end of 1916, these four sons were dead.
Henry was the last of his Sinclairs to die during the First World War. He was born in 1889. He arrived in France on 7th November 1914 and was killed on 30th September 1916. Henry is buried at Philosphe cemetery.
At the time of his death, Henry and his brothers lived at 19 Harrington Street, Glasgow.
