Gambling Policy Statement Update | What do we want to know? Under the Gambling Act 2005 the City of Glasgow Licensing Board has a number of important regulatory functions in relation to gambling activity in the city. In accordance with the Act, the Licensing Board must prepare, consult on and publish a policy which it proposes to apply when exercising relevant gambling related functions. What is Changing? The majority of the changes to the policy statement are to reflect formatting changes to page numbers and contact details of Council departments. An updated link to the guidance issued by the Gambling Commission for "Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice". There is also new Local Area Profile maps to utilise the updated data set available for the period 2016-2020 being the most up to date information currently available. Public Toilet Strategy Consultation | The provision of adequate and high-quality public toilets are recognised by Glasgow City Council as being an equality, public health and feminist issue. Recognising the importance of public toilets, the council are in the process of developing the City's first Public Toilet Strategy, which is planned for publication in early 2025. In order to shape the Public Toilet Strategy, this online consultation provides a platform to engage directly with residents, the local business community, and other key stakeholders to learn of their specific needs and opinions of public toilet services. West Nile Street Active Travel Route | The West Nile Street Active Travel Route was identified within the City Centre Transport Plan as a key project providing a segregated cycle track to connect a number of cycle routes that are already in development as part of the Avenues programme. The study corridor extends the length of West Nile Street and Mitchell Street and connects with the Argyle Street East Avenue to the south and Cowcaddens Road Avenue to the north. The scheme interfaces with Killermont Street, Sauchiehall Street Precinct and St Vincent Street and provides a key north-south connection, alleviating cycle traffic from Buchanan Street.
