Disclaimer
♦  Any person using the pontoons do so at his or her own risk. Glasgow City Council does not accept any liability
    whatsoever in respect of any loss, damage or injury sustained by any person using the pontoon(s).  
♦  Mariners are responsible for their own navigation in terms of bridge clearances, water, and air draft at all states
    of tide.  
♦  Mariners should check tide tables and the air draft of their vessel to ensure that it can safely pass under
    ALL bridges BEFORE they submit a berthing application.

Pontoon Updates
♦ Please note that Broomielaw Pontoon is closed until further notice.
♦ Please be aware that the Millennium Bridge is currently out of operation and cannot be opened for river traffic.
♦ Govan pontoon is now available to the public for booking. Please note that the pontoon may not be suitable for
   long vessels due to the proximity of bridge fenders.

Renfrew Bridge

Renfrew Bridge is operated by Renfrewshire Council.

You may require Renfrew Bridge to be opened to gain passage depending on your air draft.

Vessels should consult the attached Peel Port NTM (CNTM 06/25) below for bridge clearance and bridge opening details:

A SEPARATE opening request is required for the Renfrew Bridge (opening bridge) over the River Clyde.

A request to open Govan-Partick Bridge DOES NOT constitute as an opening request for the Renfrew Bridge.

 


Govan-Partick Bridge

The Govan-Partick Bridge is now open to the public and operated by Mirren Marine. 

Requests for opening and closing of the Bridge should be made direct to Mirren Marine in line with the Communications Protocols document below:

Please Note:

  • Mariners must request an opening at least 6 hours prior to the proposed opening time.
  • The bridge cannot be operated in an average wind speed of more than 24 Miles per hour (21 knots) or a gust speed exceeding 35MPH.
