How to contact Planning

Contact us

If you wish to contact the planning service for advice on a proposal or about whether you need planning permission, which cannot be found on our website, please fill in and submit the Planning Enquiry Form.

If you wish to contact the development plan team for enquiries about planning policy and the development plan, please Email Development Plan.

If you wish to make a planning application, please use the online planning facility.  If you wish to comment on a planning application or check the status of a live application, please visit Online Planning.

Enquiries at the public counter

Paper applications, submissions and payments can be made at our main reception desk at 45 John Street, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

  • Please note the counter at 231 George Street is for appointments only and does not accommodate general enquiries.
  • It you wish to speak to a planning officer please make an appointment at the public counter or by telephone.
  • You can also contact us at by Email.

If you need to speak directly to a planning officer or make an appointment, please use the duty officer phone number.

Please note that this phone will be staffed between 9.00 am  and 1.00 pm daily.
