11Notice of motion to Council from Councillor John Mason

"This Council regrets the proposal of the Scottish Executive to delay the Local Council Elections until 2003 and calls upon the Scottish Executive to maintain the date of 2002 in order that Local Elections can focus on local issues rather than being swamped by national Scottish issues. We would then move towards a four year local government term with elections alternating every two years with those of the Scottish Parliament."
