Council welcomes various initiatives to encourage outdoor play, such as the National Trust's 50 Things To Do Before You're Eleven and Three Quarters, and Scottish Natural Heritage's Simple Pleasures, as well as the events bringing families together to find out more about what they can do to counteract the damaging effects of couch potato materialism, promote learning of nature skills and interest in environmental arts. Council resolves that infrastructure for outdoor education and active leisure, in addition to sports facilities, will be a key legacy for the bid for the 2018 Youth Olympics." Help Icon
