Submission Documents: By Councillor Kieran Wild:- "Council acknowledges that based on 2012 statistics, only 29.51% of Glasgow's waste is recycled, composted or prepared for reuse and Glasgow is the fourth worst local authority for recycling in Scotland. Council notes that residents would like to recycle more materials in their blue bins and based on information provided by North Ayrshire Council, it should be possible to include juice cartons, milk cartons, soup cartons, metal pots and pans, cutlery, metal coat hangers, biscuit tins, plastic toys, fruit/food trays, yoghurt pots, plastic bags, cling film, and plastic coat hangers. Council supports the review of materials that can be recycled using blue bins, an extension of the items that can be included and provision of more detailed information about what can be recycled."
