Advocacy Support

If you or someone you care about does not feel that they are being heard or understood by alcohol/drug support services they can access professional advocacy support from the Advocacy Project.

The Advocacy Project is an independent, human rights-based organisation that believes everyone has the right to fully take part in society.

The Glasgow Integrated Service provides independent advocacy support for adults in Glasgow affected by problematic alcohol and drug use, mental health issues, dementia, learning disability and physical disability. It operates across in-patient, community services and prison healthcare.

The key objectives are:

  1. To provide a responsive, professional advocacy service for individuals with a mental health condition, disability or problematic alcohol and drug use.
  2. To support individuals to understand and assert their human and equality rights and work towards a fairer, more inclusive society.
  3. To increase choice and control and to safeguard and promote rights.
  4. To increase accountability for those with statutory duties.
  5. To increase service accessibility by promotion and outreach activity.
