Registration of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships

Our Registrars service will close at 4.00pm on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and will resume business on Friday 27 December 2024 at 9am.

The service will close again on Tuesday 31 December 2024 at 12.30pm and will resume business on day Friday 3 January 2025 at 9am.

Council Tax and benefits

• Scottish Welfare fund telephone service will close at 4pm on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and reopen on Friday 3 January 2025.  Online applications for the Scottish Welfare Fund can be made 24/7 by visiting Scottish Welfare Fund - Glasgow City Council

Health and Social Care

Over the festive period all public social work offices will remain open during office hours between 8:45am to 4.45pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8.45am to 3.55pm (Friday) but will be closed on the following public holidays:

• Wednesday, 25 December 2024
• Thursday, 26 December 2024
• Tuesday, 31 December 2024 closed from 12 noon onwards (Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services, will remain open until 5pm)
• Wednesday, 1 January 2025
• Thursday, 2 January 2025

The following offices will close at 3.55pm on Friday, 20 December 2024 and re-open on Friday, 3 January 2025

• Castlemilk Office, 10 Ardencraig Place.
• Mercat2, 35 Hecla Avenue.

Outwith the above hours, an emergency Social Work Service is available from Glasgow and Partners Emergency Social Work Service, phone 0300 343 1505.

Home Care Services

On Wednesday 25, Thursday 26 December 2024 and Wednesday 1, Tuesday 2 January 2025, a limited level of service provision will be in operation across Glasgow. All affected service users will have received a letter detailing the changes.
