What Information is Required

Effective validation is crucial for determining planning applications and other consents. Its primary goal is to verify that applications meet legislative requirements and that drawings and supporting information are provided so that the council can make an informed decision on all applications and consents.

The planning application process includes consultation with internal and external consultees as well as neighbour notification. Applications therefore must be supported by information that allows all interested parties to provide feedback.

We therefore require you to include the necessary documents for your proposed work with your application. Please see our Validation ChecklistHOPS Validation Guidance, and appropriate Planning Fees for details on what to include with your submission.

Please, read our advice on Major and National Applications if you are planning a large development.
