Freedom of Information Enquiries by the Media

Most local and national media offices will be aware that placing a press enquiry with us require you to contact the media office.

However you may also be aware that the Scottish Information Commissioner makes no distinction between the public and the press, therefore any calls from the media presented as formal Freedom Of Information (FOI) requests will be dealt with in the same way as public enquiries.

It is necessary for these purposes that the media use the same processes as the public when making a FOI request.
