Storage of Fireworks Licence
Please note, we cannot guarantee the processing of Firework Licence Applications for approval and issue of Licences in time for the fireworks season if received after 18 October 2024.
Why do I need one?
All traders who intend to store fireworks must be licensed in terms of the Explosives Regulations 2014 on an annual basis.
How to Apply
Application for Storage Licence Under Explosives Regulations 2014
Application can be made by submitting a completed Online Form. Please complete all sections including any details of submissions to support the application.
Please ensure you have submitted complete and accurate information in your application together with the correct fee, as it is non-refundable and incorrect information may delay the processing of the Licence. If you wish to discuss any aspect of your application prior to submission please contact TS Enquiries.

The information gathered on this form may constitute personal data as defined in the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation. Any personal data will be processed in accordance with the requirements of that Act.
- You should not use this form for an application for a licence to store the explosives listed in Note 1.
- You should only use this form if you want to store no more than 2000kg of explosives.
- If there is insufficient room to provide the information requested, please continue on a separate sheet(s)(see Note 2).
- Please note that it is an offence under Section 33 of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 to provide false information. Incomplete or inaccurate information could result in a delay in the processing of your application.
- The information contained in this form may be stored electronically. The information may, where appropriate, be shared with other relevant bodies such as other local licensing authorities or the Health and Safety Executive. You have the right to request a copy of any personal information and to have any inaccuracies corrected.
How much does it cost?
Appropriate payment in respect of your Fireworks Licensing application will be requested by Trading Standards staff on receipt of your online application. They will advise you of the amount due for your particular licence type.
The application will not be accepted without the correct fee. The fee is non-refundable.
