Glasgow's War Light Installation

A light and audio installation called Glasgow's War was projected onto the City Chambers on Armistice Day 2014, to mark the centenary of the First World War and Glaswegians role during the conflict both on the front line and home front. Glasgow's War was created by artists Ross Ashton and Karen Monid for Glasgow City Council's First World War Centenary project.

With thanks to a number of organisations for use of their First World War archives including Glasgow Life archivists at the Mitchell Library; archivists of the University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde, as well as, the archives of the Highland Light Infantry housed at the Royal Highland Fusiliers Museum on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow and The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) held by South Lanarkshire Council at Hamilton.

The film of the live event lasts nearly 30 minutes.
