Robert was the son of Mr and Mrs D. Ferguson, 4 Porter Street,Ibrox, Glasgow.
After leaving school he entered the firm of Messrs Strang & Weir, solicitors, George Square.
He enlisted in the Royal Army Medical Corps in September 1914. He was promoted Corporal but when of age to go overseas, he was kept back because of his being junior corporal. After the death of his older brother in France on 28th August 1917, Robert transferred to the KingĀ“s Own Scottish Borderers and went to France the next month.
He was killed at Meteren, France, on 1st August 1918.
