James Hunter was a second lieutenant with the 2nd Battalion of the King's Royal Rifle Corps. He was involved in the fighting around the village of Busigny in France as part of the Battle of Cambrai. He died on 17 october 1918, aged 27 and is buried Busigny Communal Cemetery Extension.
He was the son of Robert Hunter of 11 Holyrood Crescent, Glasgow.
