Robert enlisted on 4 September 1914. He saw service in France early in the war and survived the Battle of Loos in France. On 28 January 1916 he was killed through the blowing up of a bomber's sap by a German mine. He was 24 years of age.
Robert was the son of Mrs Berry, 84 Copland Road, Glasgow. He was in business with his mother.
