Keane, Albert Graham (1886 - 1917)

In February 1916 Albert enlisted in the 7th Scottish Rifles. He received his commission in the 7th Scottish Rifles in January 1917 and was attached to the 2nd Scottish Rifles. He left for France in March. On 5 May 1917 he was wounded in action at St Quentin, France, and died on the 8 May 1917.
Second Lieutenant Keane had graduated with an M.A. in 1909 and had almost completed his B.Sc. Degree. After serving on the staffs of Rutland Crescent and Broomloan Road Schools, he returned to university to continue his studies in Botany and Geography. In September 1915 he joined the staff of Bellahouston Academy. He was the son of Mrs David Keane, of 1 Lothian Gardens, Cardonald, Glasgow
