Allan was the son of Francis and Elizabeth Oliver Kennedy, 34 Carrick Street, Anderston, Glasgow.

He enlisted Glasgow and died of wounds aged 24 on the 3rd March 1916.

He is buried in Bedford House Cemetery, Belgium.
