Robert was the son of Mrs Fanny Kerr, 16 Elmfoot Street, Oaklands, Glasgow.

He died aged 21 at Passchendaele on 22nd April 1918 near Klein Zillebeke, one of eight officers and men killed and three men missing from the Battalion during the period 21st to 27th April.
