Norman was the youngest son Dr. Charles Pearson, 4 Middleton Terrace, Ibrox, Glasgow.

After leaving Bellahouston Academy, he completed his education at the High School and Glasgow University. In June 1914 he went to Canada where he was engaged in fruit-farming at Niagara on the Lake.

He enlisted in one of the first Canadian Overseas contingents.

He was killed in action at the Ypres salient Belgium, on 3rd June 1916 in a counter-attack made by the Canadians to recover lost ground the previous day. Private Pearson was 40 years of age.
