Hiram was the husband of Jessie Dale Parkinson, of 742, Gallowgate, Glasgow.

He died ged 39 at the Battle of Loos on 25th September 1915. His name is recorded at the Loos Memorial.

His son, William Rennie, was also killed during the First World War.
