Davidson Walker was a lance corporal servicing with the Gordon Highlanders. He died on the 24 July 1918 near the village of Vauxbuin, France during fierce fighting involving Scottish and British troops. He is buried in Vauxbuin French National Cemetery.

At the time of his death, his mother Annie Johnson lived at 575 Dumbarton Road, Partick, Glasgow and his father Alexander Waler was deceased. At the time of his death Davidson Walker's own address was given as 3 Mauldslie Street, Partick West.
