George was the Son of Mr and Mrs Thomas G Watson, Sen Hoy, Maryland Gardens, Cardonald, Glasgow.
After leaving Bellahouston Academy he studied at the Royal Technical College. He was apprenticed with the Anchor Line Shipping Company as an electrical engineer and gave promise of a brilliant career.
In 1917 he joined the Ayrshire Imperial Yeomanry but was afterwards attached to the Royal Scots Fusiliers. He proceeded to France early in 1918.
At the age of 19, he was killed in action at Gouzeaucourt, France, on 2nd September 1918.
