John MacDonald was a private, 4th Battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders.

John was the son of John and Annie Macdonald of 50 Duncan Street, Mile End, Glasgow. He was killed in action on 9 May 1915.

His name is recorded on the Le Touret Memorial Panels 38 and 39.
