Simpson, George Murdoch ( - 1916)

George was the second son of Ex-Bailie and Mrs Simpson, 1 Dumbreck Road, Glasgow.

He was an analytical chemist with Messrs Tatlock & Thomson, Bath Street, Glasgow.

Three days after the declaration of war he enlisted in the 7th Scottish Rifles. On receiving his commission in April 1915 he was transferred to the Highland Light Infantry. He came safely through the fighting after July 1st.

He was killed in action on the Somme on 18th November 1916.
