Resident Parking Permit Terms and Conditions

What should I do if I change my vehicle?

For new permit applications submitted from 12 December 2023, you can make a temporary change to your vehicle details online via your Ringo account.  A temporary change to the vehicle on your permit e.g., courtesy car, you may do this on your permit application.  A temporary change is valid for 21 days.  You may revert the permit to its original vehicle manually, before 21 days has elapsed, by selecting the Revert option on your permit.

If you permanently change your vehicle and/or change your vehicle registration mark, you must cancel your existing permit and submit a new application for your new vehicle.  You will receive a pro-rata refund for your cancelled permit.

In order to prevent a break in your permit history, we recommend that you make the temporary change to your current vehicle until your new application has been approved and payment has been received.  Once your permit is active for your new vehicle you can cancel the initial permit.

In the event that you no longer have the vehicle, you should cancel your parking permit and a pro-rata refund will be provided.

We reserve the right to carry out verification checks on any information supplied in support of an application for a Resident Parking Permit.

To change your vehicle details on permit applications submitted prior to 12 December 2023 and NOT registered on RingGo, you will be required to email LSParking@glasgow.gov.uk requesting your current permit to be cancelled - any refund due will be processed and returned to you within 28 days.  You will need to submit a NEW permit application via the RingGo app to apply for a new permit for you replacement vehicle.
