Business Growth Framework to support SMEs and social enterprises in Glasgow
Published: 26 April 2023
New specialist advice and support for eligible small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and social enterprises is now available through the Business Growth Framework.
The £1.9million Framework, funded through the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund, will provide consultancy services that encourage and support growth in Glasgow's business ecosystem. The multi-lot / multi-supplier framework offers specialist support to eligible SMEs and Social Enterprises based in the city.
There are 10 lots within the Framework, described as follows: Business Acceleration; Business Financial Management; Business Growth, Business Structuring; Design Thinking and Innovation; Digital Development and Innovation; Green Business Support; Internationalisation; Leadership, Skills and Resource; and Sales and Marketing.
Applications to the Framework - developed by Glasgow City Council - are now open, and support will be given in-person and online, with this determined through the completion of an online diagnostic application process. To apply, click here.
The award of a consultancy support package to an eligible organisation will be made following an initial engagement with a council Business Adviser. If approved, consultancy support packages are awarded on a tiered basis, with packages offering up to 4, 9 or 14 days of support agreed with the Business Advisors. Organisations may also be awarded an additional package of Green Business Support, in order to maximise capability and capacity amongst businesses and increase the organisation's green credentials.
Councillor Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council, said: "The Business Growth Framework is part of a number of measures that aim to make Glasgow the most productive city in the UK by 2030. Supporting these types and sizes of businesses is key to achieving the economic growth that will deliver this aim, and so I would urge eligible businesses to apply. The tailored support and advice available through the Framework to new and existing businesses will help them thrive."
