Remembrance in Glasgow 2016

A two minute silence will be observed at 11 am at the cenotaph in George Square, Glasgow, on Sunday 13 November to mark Remembrance Sunday.
Lord Provost Sadie Docherty, in her role as Lord Lieutenant, will lead Sunday's ceremony and the minister of Glasgow Cathedral, Rev. Dr Laurence Whitley will lead prayers.
The Lord Provost said: "Remembrance Sunday is a day for reflection and gratitude for those who gave their lives in conflict to preserve our freedoms. Glasgow owes its military and veterans a great debt. We are proud to remember those who fell and to support our serving military."
The Lord Provost will be joined by Baroness Goldie, representing the Secretary of State for Scotland, Deputy First Minister John Swinney MSP, Bernard Higgins, Assistant Chief Constable of Police Scotland and Lewis Ramsay, Assistant Chief Officer of Scottish Fire and Rescue.
Representatives from the Royal British Legion Scotland (Legion Scotland), serving military, clergy and others from civic life will also be present.
A Guard of Honour will be provided by 52nd Lowland, 6th Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Music will be provided by the Royal Marines Reserve Band and the Royal Air Force Pipe Band.
Members of the public wishing to attend and pay their respects should gather in George Square at 10.30am.
Meanwhile tomorrow, Armistice Day, the Lord Provost will attend a service in George Square organised by Legion Scotland where she will read Binyon's lines and observe a minute's silence at 11am to mark the end of the First World War.
